SOT, journalist (Russian): "Please, tell about requests, you have sent to the court, how did the judge react to them? "

SOT, Konstantin Terekhov, Navalny's advocate (Russian): "We all were there, we sent about 10 applications, but all of them were declined, excepting the request on getting acquainted with the case documents."

SOT, Vadim Kobzev, Navalny's advocate (Russian): "According to the police, the breach of the law today took place at 13:30 PM. The protocol was written at 17:00. The trial dtarted at 18:00. It is clear, that the defendants did not have enough time to prepare the positions, and there was no time for coordination."

Opposition activist Alexei Navalny was sentenced to 30 days of administrative arrest after a trial in Moscow's Simonovsky Court, Monday following his arrest earlier in the day.

Navalny was charged for repeatedly violating the law on staging rallies and resisting arrest.

"We need to continue this protest activity, peacefully, but if we are not allowed to do so, we still should go on the streets, without any allowances" said Navalny in the courtroom.

Moscow Police said some 5000 people took part in the demonstration in the capital.
