New Zealand: Commitment to counter-terrorism ‘extraordinarily important’ – Tillerson
US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson stated that the recent terror attacks in London and Manchester manifest how "extraordinarily important" the commitment of all the world's nations towards counter-terrorism efforts is, during a joint press conference with New Zealand's Prime Minister Bill English in Wellington, Monday.
"I think in terms of the commitment that all the nations, including New Zealand, along with in partnership with the United States, towards counter-terrorism efforts is extraordinarily important today," said Tillerson. "And the tragic events in London are just, you know, here again we're seeing it, as to how it manifests itself," he continued.
When being asked about the FBI investigation into Russia's interference in the US 2017 elections, Tillerson said he had "no direct knowledge" on the matter but that “Russia is an important global player and today our relationships with Russia are at a very low point”.
