Serbia: Josip Broz Tito's 125th birthday celebrated by hundreds in Belgrade
Hundreds of people from all across former Yugoslavia, commemorated the birthday of former President of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia Josip Broz Tito, also known as 'Day of Youth', by laying flowers at his final resting place in Belgrade on Thursday.
Admirers of the revolutionary brought flowers to the tomb, flags of Yugoslavia, wearing caps and scarves with the symbol of the Union of Pioneers of Yugoslavia.
Speaking outside the 'House of Flowers', Joska Broz, President of the Communist Party and Tito's grandson, claimed that the number of people honouring Tito was a proof of better times when "you knew who was who, and you knew what kind of a state we were."
The celebrations took place in remembrance of Youth Day, formerly celebrated on May 25, when young men and women from all across Yugoslavia participated in a Relay of Youth as a gift to Tito and a symbol of commitment to his achievements.
