Russia: Videos of Khan Sheikhoun chemical attack may just be 'US propaganda' - Zakharova
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova called attention to videos “recently published in mass media” which claim the chemical incident in Syria's Khan Sheikhoun on April 4 was "staged" and "filmed" by Al Jazeera and Reuters news teams, while speaking in Moscow on Thursday.
“Several mass media with reference to the US Veterans Movement published information that the video of rescue operations of the Khan Sheikhoun civilians was staged and filmed for four days by film teams from Qatari Al Jazeera and British Reuters” said Zakharova.
She went on that a “former member of pseudo-humanitarian organisation White Helmets confirmed that the purpose of this provocation was the aim of fabricating false evidence that Damascus didn't fulfill its obligations on destroying its chemical weapon arsenal”.
Zakharova said “accusations against Syrian authorities have not been substantiated by any fact. It is just another example of notorious US propaganda, effervescent but absolutely unfounded" and called for "appropriate measures" to be taken if the information was proven true.
