Serbia: 'You should be ashamed France' - outrage in Belgrade at Haradinaj extradition rejection

The Association of Families of Kidnapped and Murdered in Kosovo and Metohija gathered in Belgrade, Friday, to rally against the decision by a French court to reject Serbia's extradition request on former leading member of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) Ramush Haradinaj.

The protest was organised in front of the Monument of Gratitude to the French, a monument to the mutual assistance and cooperation between the two countries in the First World War.

Participants held pictures of Serbs killed in Kosovo and Metohija and held signs reading "Albanian crimes go without punishment." They covered up the Monument of Gratitude to the French people in protest.

Simo Spasic from the Association of Families of Kidnapped and Murdered in Kosovo and Metohija stressed, "NATO criminals, we will never forgive you victims. We'll never forgive you victims from Kosara to Horgos. We'll never forgive you murdered children."

Another protester Dragan Piljevic added there was, "No justice for victims," remarking, "This is the case with Ramush Haradinaj. You should be ashamed France. "

Haradinaj was arrested by French authorities earlier this year at the Basel-Mulhouse airport, Saint-Louis, on an international warrant filed by Serbia in 2004. Belgrade is set to recall its ambassador from Paris after the decision was made to release the former KLA leader.

The KLA is designated as a terrorist organisation by Serbia and Haradinaj has faced trial in The Hague twice; both times receiving acquittals. He served as prime minister of Kosovo in the period between 2004 and 2005.
