
Italy: Protesters gather to protest against the 'militarisation' of Sardinia
Around 400 protesters organised an anti-military sit-in, in Villaputzu, on Friday, over a hundred police officers were deployed.
Protesters planted flowers and with placards reading "Military not for our land." The protest was organised by A Foras, a group which opposes the military occupation of Sardinia.
The protesters were blocked from marching my the police, dressed in riot gear. No clashes were reported.
