
Russia: Google pays out €7.3mil settlement to FAS in android case
A settlement was reached between the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) and Google concerning the Android case, in Moscow, on Monday.
Deputy Head of Federal Antimonopoly Service Aleksei Dotsenko told reporters that "Google will develop the Chrome widget, in which the user will be offered to choose either search engine Yandex or Google."
He added that "the judicial proceedings between Google and FAS are at an end. The decision of FAS remains in force, the company Google will pay a fine of 438 million rubles (€7,347,059)."
In 2015 FAS determined that google violated the Law on Protection of Competition, by requiring the pre-installation of certain applications on Android-based devices.
