Syria: Russian military helps restore bakery in eastern Aleppo
Footage released by the Russian Centre for Reconciliation on Thursday captured the Russian military helping restore a bakery in the Kadi Askar District in eastern Aleppo, Thursday.
After the production line of the bakery was re-launched, the locals treated the Russian military with the first batch of bread. Head of the Kadi Askar District Administration Omar Azet noted, "Now after the liberation of eastern Aleppo, we are restoring this bakery as well as many others" while adding that "militants purposefully destroyed it because their plan is to destroy everything that is part of the Syrian infrastructure."
The bakery can reportedly produce up to 40 tonnes (40,000 kilogrammes) of bread a day at full capacity. At the first stage of production, it is set to bake some 13 tonnes (13,000 kilogrammes), which is said to be distributed among the Syrians returning to their homes in eastern Aleppo.
