US Senate Intelligence Committee Chair Richard Burr stated that 20 individuals are to be questioned during the course of their investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential election, talking to press in Washington DC, Wednesday, ahead of the first public hearing on Thursday.

Burr stated that five interviews will take place within the coming ten days, while the remaining 15 still need to be scheduled. He added that the committee will conduct an interview with US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, however they are yet to set a date for this.

He explaing that tomorrow’s hearing "is to examine Russian capabilities, their capabilities to influence elections globally, what Russia has done in the past."

US Senate Intelligence Committee Vice-Chair Mark Warner also spoke to the press, adding, "I was a technology guy before I was in politics and the very technology that has made our lives simpler, can also be misused in ways to put false information for folks who potentially only get their news off a Twitter feed or a Facebook newsfeed and that raises serious questions even beyond this investigation.
