USA: Trump's team surveilled after election; info unrelated to Russia - Nunes’ statement
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer quoted the Republican chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives intelligence committee, Devin Nunes, who said there were “numerous occasions the intelligence community [had] incidentally collected information about US citizens involved in the Trump transition,” speaking from the White House, Washington DC on Wednesday.
Spicer relayed Nunes’ iteration that “details with little or no apparent foreign intelligence value were widely disseminated in the intelligence community reporting” and that "additional names of Trump transition team members were unmasked."
He underlined that none of the “surveillance was related to Russia or the investigation of Russian activities or of the Trump team."
The press secretary added that Nunes would be briefing US President Donald Trump at the White House, and confirmed a read out for the meeting would take place.
