Germany: Exhibition on anti-semitism and racism since the 1880s opens in Munich
An exhibition on racist and Nazi propaganda, 'Sticky Messages. Anti-Semitic and racist stickers from 1880 to the present' opened its doors to visitors at the Documentation Centre for the History of National Socialism in Munich on Tuesday.
"The sticky messages displayed at the exhibition are the retrospective to the past and show us the history of the enemy image - anti-Semitism, racism, hatred against Muslims or refugees. They present us an overall view of the enemy view," the coordinator of the exhibition said.
The exhibition, which presents labels, collector cards, envelope seals and stickers featuring racist and anti-Semitic rhetoric, "are testament to hostile resentment against Jews and other groups," according to the official web site of the event.
The exhibition was organised by the Center for Antisemitism Research at the Technical University of Berlin, the Centre for Jewish Studies Berlin-Brandenburg and the Munich Documentation Centre. The event will run until June 5, 2017.
