
Cuba: Train collision kills six, injures dozens in Sancti Spiritus
Six people were killed and more than 50 injured after a passenger train crashed into a freight train carrying sugarcane, near the town of Tuinucu in the Sancti Spiritus Province, Friday.
The accident occurred at around noon local time (17:00 GMT), as the trains, which were traveling in opposite directions, collided against one another. Those injured were rushed to the city's main hospital Camilo Cienfuegos for treatment.
The Interior Ministry have launched an investigation into the causes behind the crash. According to initial reports, the passenger train violated the right of way.
