Australia: Anti-Muslim rally 'Reclaim Australia against Terrorism' hits Sydney
Around 50 right-wing protesters attended a 'Reclaim Australia against Terrorism' rally, in Sydney, Sunday, to protest against Muslims and to show their support for US President Donald Trump.
Dozens waved placards reading "Muslim terrorists not welcome here, neither are their leftist supporters," while listening to speeches insulting the Muslim Prophet Mohammed and claiming that the liberal media presented a danger for the future of Australian society.
Several counter-protesters interrupted the rally, chanting: "Nazi scum, off our streets." Another heckled a speaker and stating, "I think by not challenging them on their arguments, we are being complicit in perpetuating more. And I for one did not grow up in an Australia that was insular like this and I do not want it to continue to be this way."
400 people were expected to rally prompting heavy policing; however the turnout was significantly lower.
