
USA: Angela Davis and Madonna call for resistance at Women's March on Washington
Civil Rights activist Angela Davis, Singer Madonna and march organiser Tamika Mallory were among the speakers at the Women's March on Washington, in Washington DC, on Saturday.
All three women spoke about the need for resistance in their speeches, with Angela Davis saying, "We dedicate ourselves to collective resistance, resistance to the billionaire mortgage profiteers and gentrifiers, resistance to the healthcare privateers, resistance to the attacks on muslims, on immigrants, resistance to the attacks on disabled people."
