Moldova: Austria gives 'high priority' to Transnistria settlement during OSCE chairmanship

Special Representative of the Austrian OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the Transnistria Settlement Process, Wolf Dietrich Heim, stated that the Transnistrian settlement process was of a "high priority" for Austria's OSCE Chairmanship, during a press conference in Chisinau on Friday.

Wolf Dietrich Heim stated: "The Austrian presidency of the OSCE 2017, sees a high priority in the Transnistrian settlement talks. The Chairman-in-Office will visit Moldova in two weeks. He will be in Chisinau and Tiraspol on February 3rd and 4th." Heim went on to say that he was "optimistic that we have a good understanding with all partners and we would like to proceed in the 5+2 process on a Transnistria settlement."

Heim arrived in Moldova on January 17, to meet with mediators and observers in the 5+2 talks both in Chisinau and Tiraspol.
