
Russia: Airplane skids off runway in Kaliningrad
A passenger aircraft veered off the runway with 167 passengers on board after landing at Kaliningrad's Khrabrovo Airport, Tuesday.
The Aeroflot A321 jet, carrying five crew members and 167 passengers from Moscow, came to a halt in a field 150 metres (492 feet) away from the landing strip. Emergency slides were deployed to allow passengers to exit the plane. Reportedly three people required medical assistance in the wake of the incident.
The Kaliningrad airport was closed following the incident as authorities investigated the situation.
