Indonesia: Protesters call for Ahok's imprisonment as second hearing commences
Hundreds of protesters gathered in front of North Jakarta District Court in the country's capital on Tuesday, demanding the imprisonment of the Governor of Jakarta Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, commonly known as 'Ahok,' for insulting Islam.
High levels of security continue to be deployed outside the court in order to prevent a repeat of an earlier incident in which one person died and hundreds of others were injured.
Police have named Jakarta's first Christian and ethnic Chinese governor as a suspect in a November blasphemy investigation following the protests against Purnama. If convicted, he could face five years in jail.
