USA: Family and friends await news on Oakland nightclub missing persons
Relatives and friends of people still missing after Friday’s deadly fire at the 'Ghost Ship' nightclub in Oakland waited for news about their loved ones outside Alameda County Sheriff’s Office, California on Saturday.
A cousin of Alex Vega, a missing person, said that he was "pretty sure" his cousin was at the club and was still "waiting on news" as authorities had yet identify all the bodies found inside the warehouse.
Between 50 and 100 people were attending the event dedicated to musician Golden Donna’s ‘100% Silk’ West Coast tour when the blaze broke out. Nine have so far been confirmed dead though authorities have said the death toll could be as high as 40.
