Syria: Liberated eastern Aleppo residents board buses to humanitarian centres
Scores of residents from the eastern Aleppo districts, which were taken by Syrian Armed Forces (SAA) over the past days, were seen waiting for buses to transport them to humanitarian centres, on Tuesday.
According to the Russian Centre for Reconciliation, the SAA has liberated 12 eastern Aleppo districts comprising of over 40 percent of eastern Aleppo which was previously under the control of the anti-government forces.
The Centre estimated that some 5,000 people fled from the districts still under anti-government control and that around 80,000 people were now living in newly liberated areas.
The districts include Jabal Badru, a main base for the Jabhat Fateh al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra) militant group and their allies, Sheikh Hader, Sakhour and Haydariya.
