France: EP adopts resolution to end Turkey’s EU membership talks
The European Parliament adopted a non-binding resolution calling for the bloc to stop Turkey’s EU membership talks, in Strasbourg on Thursday.
A total of 479 MEPs of the 751-member legislative body voted for the resolution with 37 votes against, while 107 abstained from voting.
The non-binding vote is expected to add pressure on Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, following Ankara's crackdown on opponents in the wake of the failed coup attempt in July.
