Workers cleared up the aftermath of a deadly attack in Baqir-ul-Uloom Shia mosque in Kabul, Monday afternoon, only a few hours after a suicide bomber blew himself up inside the building, killing at least 27 people and injuring dozens of others.

According to local sources, the suicide bomber exploded his vest as Shia worshippers had gathered at the mosque in the Dar-ul-Aman area of Kabul to mark the Arbaeen festival.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack at the time of writing.

Earlier in the day, two Afghan army soldiers were injured when a separate explosion rocked the Bagrami district of Kabul.
