Russian-born Anna Grinis, 75, won the title of "Miss Holocaust Survivor," in Haifa on Sunday, as part of a charity beauty pageant organised in honour of women who survived World War II.

The winner was two days old when World War II broke out and was forced to flee with her mother following the Nazi assault on the Soviet Union. A total of 300 Israeli Holocaust and World War II survivors signed up to the competition but only 14 made it to the finals.

In attendance was the wife of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Sara Netanyahu. The ceremony was followed by dinner and music.

The event was organised for the fifth time by Helping Hand, an organisation which helps Holocaust survivors in need throughout Israel.
