      Kenya: Knife-wielding man fatally shot outside US Embassy in Nairobi

      A man was fatally shot outside the United States embassy in Nairobi, on Thursday evening, while reportedly waving a knife.

      The assailant attempted to stab an officer from the General Service Unit who was guarding the visa section of the embassy.

      When speaking to Reuters, national police spokesperson George Kinoti maintained that the officer who shot the assailant did it in "self-defence".
