UK: New book reveals Hitler wrote an autobiography before Mein Kampf
Professor of History and International Affairs Thomas Weber has claimed to have uncovered conclusive evidence that Adolf Hitler himself penned the 1923 biography “Adolf Hitler: His Life and Speeches." Speaking from the University of Aberdeen on Monday, Weber said his findings “shed new light on the rise of Hitler.”
The book was previously thought to be authored by Victor von Koerber, a loyal fan of the German leader’s. Weber said the discovery was significant because it “suggests that Hitler saw himself as the future leader of Germany, the saviour of Germany, much earlier than we normally thought was the case.” He said Hitler was not just a "raging nihilist" supported by "sinister forces in the background" but rather a “political operator and manipulator.”
“His Life and Speeches” is a work of hyperbolic self-promotion which draws comparison between Hitler and Jesus. It was published two years before “Mein Kampf”, which was previously thought to be Hitler’s only autobiography.
Weber’s book including his findings is due to be published in the UK next year.
