Syria: Syrian troops remove mortar shell from Aleppo school roof
Syrian army soldiers managed to remove a mortar shell from the roof an elementary school in Aleppo's Hamdayniya district on Tuesday.
Hundreds of pupils were evacuated from the school before Syrian sappers managed to safely extract the unexploded shell.
Reportedly, about nine Aleppo districts still remain under intensive shelling while Syrian bomb disposal units continue to remove explosives.
On Sunday the United Nations Security Council held an emergency meeting in New York to discuss the current situation in the country, particularly the escalating situation in Aleppo. The meeting was requested by the United Kingdom, France and the United States. Violence has surged throughout the country once again, after a week-long ceasefire came to an end.
