The centenary of first two British World War One pilots to be killed by Manfred von Richthofen, better known as the Red Baron, was commemorated in London, Saturday, with the descendants of both victims and the Baron drinking to the soldiers' memories.

An exhibition was held at the Whitgift School for the commemoration, with numerous objects on display, including a painting of the two Britons in action, various WWI medals, flags, and memorabilia, alongside other artefacts.

Manfred von Richthofen, better known as the Red Baron, was a German combat pilot in the Imperial German Army Air Service throughout the First World War. He is considered by many to be one of the most famous flying aces in the history of air combat, officially participating in 80 air combat triumphs.

The first of the 80 air combat victories happened over Villers Plouich in Northern France on September 17, 1916, when he shot down a plane operated by Royal Air Force airmen Lieutenant Lionel Morris and Captain Tom Rees.
