
Serbia: Violence as Pristina student group rallies against Serbian Orthodox Church
A protest organised against the construction of a Serbian Orthodox Church on the University of Pristina campus erupted in violence, as police and the protesters clashed in Pristina, Saturday. The protest was organised by the Student Parliament of the university. One police officer was reportedly injured in the scuffles.
Previously, the church had set on fire when burning tyres were thrown into the building on September 9. The fire has been condemned by local authorities and the Serbian Orthodox Church.
