Romania: Police and taxi drivers scuffle on streets of Bucharest
Scuffles broke out between lorry and cab drivers on one side, and police on the other, in central Bucharest, on Thursday, during a protest against steep increases in Romania's third party insurance policy prices.
Protesters from four transport federations occupied Victory Square, just outside government headquarters, and attempted bring a coffin and a cross to the Prime Minister, before being blocked by law enforcement.
After two hours of new negotiations between the representatives of the protesters and regulators, a deal was struck to reduce insurance rates.
