China: Putin and Hollande talk Ukrainian and Syrian conflicts
Russian President Vladimir Putin met with his French counterpart Francois Hollande on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in the Chinese city of Hangzhou, Sunday, where they discussed the Ukrainian and Syrian conflicts.
At the meeting, Putin expressed his wish to discuss "the modest, little issues which concern only France and Russia."
In turn, Hollande said he would like to address pressing political issues because "political problems have economic consequences."
Commenting on the Ukrainian conflict, French president said, "we should discuss our further cooperation within the Normandy format." He went on to discuss the Syrian crisis, saying "we should try to establish meaningful dialogue despite the fact that many parties [to the conflict] have already made military decisions. However, we should try to solve this crisis politically."
