      French President Francois Hollande met with Pope Francis at the Vatican on Wednesday, roughly three weeks after the killing of 85-year-old Catholic priest Jacques Hamel in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray.

      The substance of the discussion between Hollande and Pope Francis is as of yet unclear, since the meeting was held behind closed doors.

      French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve was among the high-ranking French government officials to accompany Hollande on his visit.

      Upon the conclusion of the meeting, Hollande and Pope Francis presented each other with gifts.
