SOT, Yingluck Shinawatra, Former Prime Minister of Thailand (English) "I think today, especially in the front of the audience we can't say that much, so we will be make sure we are neutral, make sure that people will come from their home and I think that right now [INAUDIBLE] is to have a lot of calm."

Former Prime Minister of Thailand Yingluck Shinawatra was seen casting her referendum vote at a polling station in Bangkok on Sunday, just before a referendum on a draft constitution proposed by members of the military was passed, according to exit polls.

During an allegedly restricted anti-constitution proposal campaign, critics of the draft raised concerns over some of its clauses - such as the military having a bigger say in the election of the 250-seat senate members,- adding that that it would decrease the liberty of the citizens while also increasing the jurisdiction of the military.

Preliminary results published by the Thailand’s Election Commission reveal that, with 93 percent of the votes counted, 61 percent of the voters have casted their vote in favour of the proposed constitution.

In 2014, Thailand's military announced that it is taking control of the government and suspended the constitution in Phaya Thai, Bangkok.
