USA: 'I regret using one account' Clinton tells journalist convention

United States, Washington D.C.
August 5, 2016 at 21:49 GMT -00:00 · Published

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton made a guest appearance at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) joint convention, held at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington D.C., Friday, during which she answered journalists' questions.

When asked about the e-mail scandal, Clinton reiterated that she had never sent or received anything that had been marked classified, adding "[Federal Bureau of Investigation] director Comey said there was absolutely no intention on my part to either ignore or in any way to dismiss the importance of those documents, because they weren’t marked classified so that would have been hard to do. And I will go back to where I started. I regret using one account, I have taken responsibility for that."

Clinton also cited the results of economist Mark Zandi's analysis and comparison of both nominees' agendas on jobs and economic growth, saying her agenda would generate "10.4 million jobs within four years," while Trump's agenda would allegedly lead to "a lengthy recession with 3.4 millions jobs lost."

"I am not going to speak for everyone who supports him [Trump] because I think there have been some quite distressing statements coming out of his rallies and his supporters and who has aligned themselves with him. But I think the core of his support really centres on the disappointment in the economy that so many Americans feel" added Clinton.
