France: Tensions high as refugees protest for asylum in Paris
Dozens of refugees and migrants attempted to hold a protest rally near the Jaures metro station in Paris on Wednesday, to call for asylum and for more help from the French state.
After several minor altercations with local residents and a brief protest, police later reportedly arrived and escorted many of the refugees away from the area.
The refugees, mostly from Sudan and Afghanistan, protested for better living conditions and for the French state to process their asylum requests.
