USA: Police and Black Lives Matter activists face-off in NYC
Four people were reportedly arrested, as hundreds of Black Lives Matter activists marched against police brutality, in New York City, Monday, following the deadly police shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile.
Tensions ran high as night fell in the city, with police and protesters facing off. Despite this the march was largely peaceful.
Sterling, 37, was shot when two police officers went to investigate a claim that he was in possession of a gun while selling CDs in the parking lot of the Triple S Food Mart. Castile's death came just one day after the death of Sterling, also at the hands of a police officer.
