Protesters gathered outside theLabour headquarters in central London, Sunday, to show support for Labour party leader Jeremy Corbyn following his decision to sack Shadow Foreign Secretary Hilary Benn.

In a seeming bid to lead the party towards a vote of no confidence against the Labour leader, several members of the Shadow Cabinet have since resigned following Benn’s dismal.

Among those to leave their positions are Heidi Alexander, Gloria Del Piero, Ian Murray, Lilian Greenwood, Lucy Powell, Kerry McCarthy and Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury Seema Malhotra.

The pro-Corbyn protesters outside the Labour party headquarters railed at what they consider to be a Blairite counter-coup following the party leader’s handling of Labour’s Brexit campaign.

One demonstrator commented that Corbyn was “the only person who can reform this country in Brexit conditions. Whether or not you wanted Brexit has nothing to do with that. We do not want a new labour leadership.”
