Uzbekistan: Admission of India, Pakistan among priorities of SCO summit - Putin
The formal admission of India and Pakistan into the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) is among the priorities of the SCO Summit, said Russian President Vladimir Putin in Tashkent, Thursday.
Speaking during a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the summit, the Russian leader added that Moscow attaches "great importance to developing multilateral relations" in cooperation with Beijing.
Earlier on Thursday, Putin met the Chinese leader during trilateral talks involving delegations from the two nations alongside Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj.
The SCO marks its 15th anniversary during this year's summit, which is set to run until Friday. India and Pakistan are expected to become full SCO members after their formal admission into the organisation.
