Haiti: Supporters of provisional President Privert clash with police
Clashes erupted in Port-au-Prince, Tuesday, as thousands of protesters supporting provisional Haitian President Jocelerme Privert fought with police.
The protesters were in the process of marching to the Parliament building, before being stopped by police, initiating brief clashes between the crowd and the officers.
Haiti currently stands at a political stalemate, with an opposition alliance claiming that provisional President Privert is illegitimately holding onto power. Privert and his supporters maintain that he will stay in office until parliament finally decides on whether or not to extend his mandate.
