Italy: Doctor recalls Berlusconi offering nurse job following surgery
Silvio Berlusconi's doctors spoke on Wednesday from San Raffaele hospital, after Italian former Prime Minister awoke after open-heart surgery to replace his aortic valve on Tuesday in Milan.
According to his doctor Ottavio Alfieri "everything worked as we had planned, without any complications at all," and explained how "the sick valve was replaced by a bioprothesis, a biologic vale, made of bovine pericardium.”
Ottavio Alfieri, another of his doctors, recalled how Berlusconi after “30 seconds was ready to joke, making a compliment to the assistance nurse." He added that "he was happy about the night assistance offered by a female nurse called Cristina. He offered her a job in Telecinco.”
The 79-year old was admitted to hospital on June 5 after having a heart attack. He is expected to remain in intensive care for another 48 hours.
