      France: English and Russian fans brawl in Marseille

      English and Russian football fans clashed in the streets in Marseille, on Friday night, resulting in some supporters sustaining injuries. Marseille locals were also reportedly involved in the fighting.

      Riot police were called to the scene of the fighting in order to stop the clashes between rival fans.

      The incident occurred the evening after riot police were forced to step in to disperse crowds of fans in Marseille, using tear gas, after English football fans clashed with French locals.

      The supporters were in the southern French city ahead of the England-Russia game to be held in Marseille’s Stade Velodrome on Saturday night.
