
Libya: GNA affiliated forces continue to advance on IS positions in Sirte

Libyan security forces loyal to the new Government of National Accord (GNA) took positions from the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL), in and around the coastal town of Sirte, on Thursday.
The GNA-affiliated forces are reportedly confident that they can take control of the city, a strategic stronghold for the Islamic State, within the next few days.
