Syria: Syrian army positions in Aleppo shelled by al-Nusra Front militants
Footage released by the Russian Defence Ministry, on Monday, shows Al-Nusra Front and Ahrar al-Sham militants attacking positions held by the Syrian army in the south-west districts of Aleppo, as the Assad’s forces continue battling militant groups in several areas of the city.
A cessation of hostilities in Syria came into effect on February 27, 2016, however the deal excluded armed groups such as the so-called Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) and the Al-Nusra Front, who, according to the deal, remain legitimate targets.
