France: Drone footage shows heavy flooding as Paris lies underwater
Drone footage from the Essonne district in the outskirts of Paris revealed the extent of flooding in the French capital, Saturday, after heavy flooding left at least four people dead and 24 injured.
After eight days of heavy rains and increasing water levels, the river Seine has began to recede after reaching its highest peak in the last 30 years, 6 metres (20 ft) above its normal level.
The capital's famous Orsay and Louvre museums were closed in order to save the expensive artworks. Paris authorities have shut down some metro stations, stopped inland traffic and recommended Parisians to stay at home.
