Syria: Russia releases evidence of militant supply column coming from Turkey
Russia's Defence Ministry released drone footage on Friday, showing an alleged convoy of military reinforcements heading from Turkey towards militant positions in Syria's Idlib and Aleppo provinces.
The footage shows a massive column of trucks, which according to the Russian Military of Defence, contained men, machinery and ammunition headed to militant groups in Syria. Most of the trucks reportedly arrived at Dar-Taazza in the Idlib Province and Azaz in the Aleppo Province. The latter is just over 6km from the border with Turkey.
Other claims state off-road vehicles with different weapons mounted on them, armoured cars, and tanks are heading to militant positions in northern Aleppo.
Russian forces in Syria launched drones to investigate allegations made by locals that new militant groups and supporters were arriving from the Turkish border. For the last three days the Russian UAVs said that it monitored the movements of the trucks, noting an alleged significant increase in traffic from Turkey.
