USA: I was offered millions to defect, says Syrian govt. advisor Shabaan
Political and media adviser for the President Bashar al-Assad of Syria, Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban addressed the National Press Club in Washington DC via Skype, Thursday, regarding the Syrian government's position on the current situation in the country.
Commenting on the allegations that the Syrian government has been facilitating in the buying and selling of oil from militant groups, Shaaban said "there is no question that the Syrian Government never buys oil or sells oil to the terrorists." She went on to say that "There are so many unfounded views that are expressed in the media, I don't think you have to believe all of them."
The adviser went on to highlight the fact that "Russian satellites as well as American satellites in the last one month saw over 8,000 terrorists coming from Turkey" adding that "if the international community would be able to close the Turkish border tomorrow, you would see what happen to the war on Syria."
Shabaan added that she "was offered millions of dollars to leave the Syrian Government by countries and parties who claim human rights and who claim they want to liberate Syria."
