USA: Aztec people join March against Monsanto and GMOs in San Francisco
Hundreds of people marched down, the Embarcadero, one of San Francisco's main tourist sites, Saturday, to mark the Global March Against Monsanto. This year's march was organized around the use of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) in the Salmon industry and the land rights for native peoples of California.
Several Mexican Aztec native people performed ritual dances during the march to commemorate the earth and nature.
A counter protest in favour of GMOs and Monsanto followed the march, with signs reading: 'GMOs are good for you,' and 'Trust the science.'
Saturday's march will mark the fourth annual 'March against Monsanto.' The march is set to take place in over 400 cities in more than 40 countries around the world.
