Ecuador: 6.7 earthquake strikes country prompting evacuation in Quito
Locals in northern Quito took shelter in the streets following a 6.7 earthquake which struck near the western city of Esmeraldas, Wednesday, the same area where a 7.8 quake killed more than 650 people last month.
The latest quake took place 34 kilometres (21 miles) from the town of Rosa Zarate. According to local reports, there are no immediate reports of extensive damage.
The evacuation comes as the country still reels from two deadly quakes which struck in April, killing more than 600 people.
