
Russia: Russian Air Force fills Moscow’s skyline in final V-Day rehearsal
Hundreds of aircraft from the Russian Air Force filled Moscow's skyline on Saturday, in their final rehearsal ahead of the Victory Day parade on May 9.
Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu participated in the final rehearsal. He was driven onto Red Square to inspect and congratulate the troops on the 71th anniversary of the end of WWII. Traditionally, the military parade will be opened by drummers of the Moscow Military Music College.
The Moscow Victory Day Parade is part of the commemoration services marking the 71th anniversary of the Soviet Victory over Nazi Germany, featuring a series of parades that will occur in 26 Russian cities. More than 10,000 people, 135 military equipment including T-90 tanks, armoured personnel carriers and 71 infantry fighting vehicles and helicopters will take part in the Victory Day parade on May 9.
