American mixed martial art (MMA) fighter Jeff ‘The Snowman’ Monson was knocked out within 30 seconds of his first round clash with Russian fighter Ivan Shtyrkov in Yekaterinburg, Friday.
Monson, who received Russian citizenship back in December 2015, suffered an early blow when Shtyrkov struck the American with an early whopper, prompting the referee to stop the bout.
Jeff Monson arrived to the fight wearing a red t-shirt with communist slogans and a Che Guevara portrait. Monson's fascination with Russia has been demonstrated in the sportsman’s multiple tattoos, which include an image of a hammer and sickle on his left shin and s red and black star on his chest.
