Syria: Aleppo residents begin clearing rubble after ceasefire agreement
Residents of the Midan neighbourhood in Aleppo started to clear the debris left by years of armed conflict following the cessation of hostilities agreement in the city, reached by Russia and the United States, Thursday.
The Syrian army will obey a "regime of calm" which came into effect on Wednesday, and will last for 48 hours, according to the Syrian state media. After two weeks of intense attacks and destruction, residents of Aleppo enjoyed a brief period of calm, allowing them to take to the streets in a relatively calm environment.
Nevertheless, militants allegedly violated the agreement by engaging in clashes in the countryside south of Aleppo, according to reports.
