      Russia: Ethiopian FM meets Lavrov, thanks Moscow for help in 'pacifying' region

      Ethiopian Foreign Minister Tedros Adhanom thanked Russia for its support and commitment to "help in pacifying" the region of the Horn of Africa at a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Moscow, Monday.

      Lavrov said they hope to discuss cooperation in the spheres of trade, economy areas and humanitarian work as well as exchange views on the international and African agendas.

      Adhanom also expressed gratitude for the fact that diplomats from Ethiopia and Russia are now meeting on a regular basis.

      The foreign ministers will hold a joint press conference later on Monday.
